Help and questions
My power’s off right now. Who do I call?
In England, Scotland and Wales, call 105. It’s free. In Northern Ireland, call NIE Networks on 03457 643643. In a life-threatening emergency, call 999.
Can I buy the Essentials Kit yet?
Not yet. Join the list on the kit page and we’ll email you when it’s ready to order.
Can I get the household plan without signing up?
Yes. It’s two printable pages: your numbers, your kit, your plan. Download the household plan (PDF). No email needed.
Why is there no food or water in the kit?
You’ll rotate your own tins better than we could, and water is heavy to post. The card in the kit tells you exactly what to add: 2.5 to 3 litres of drinking water per person per day, for at least three days.
Why is there no power bank?
Royal Mail and most couriers don’t carry loose lithium batteries, so the phone charger is built into the radio instead.
Are you part of the government?
No. We base our checklists on the public GOV.UK Prepare advice and link to it, but we’re independent.
Where do your facts come from?
Every fact on the site links to its source, usually GOV.UK, the NHS, Ofgem, the Food Standards Agency or the Met Office. Each guide says when it was last checked.
How do I stop the weekly email?
Every Ready List has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Or email us and we’ll take you off the list.
How do I contact you?
Email hello@readyandsorted.co.uk. We aim to reply within 2 working days.
